BlaqueButterfly

by Carol Marie

she whispers my name

and

in the dark a sudden chill

runs through me

I blister at the thought

of the embers

that rage

coursing into the night

her softness echoes with each word

each syllable that drives

me closer to her flame

she is my butterfly

blaque like the night sky

smooth the way she

spreads her wings

hovering just above the moonlight

the sky esconced, bathed in shimmering tones

she soars

and in the twilight hours

before dawn has reached her slender fingers

into the realm of sleep

my butterfly dances deep within my soul...
